Yay! We had a good harvest of strawberries from our garden this morning. The strawberries weren't big (ranging in size from my thumbnail to half of my thumb) but it was plentiful. Apparently, some backyard creatures had enjoyed a few as well. They left their leftovers outside of the planting box. I have the box covered with a netting, but it's getting old and needs replacing. Here's another item to put on my to do list.
We'll see what kind of a harvest we get this year. Last year, the tomato harvest was down; the beans were just so-so; there was a couple of eggplants; the cucumbers were not successful at all; but there were plenty of zucchinis. This year, we again have the tomatoes; we'll see if the beans and egg plant do well; for now we skipped the zucchini and have some spaghetti squash; and the new item are melons.
